When is a planet not a planet? The story of Pluto, by Elaine Scott - review
When is a Planet Not a Planet? The Story of Pluto, by Elaine Scott
Made Molly read this one. There she be, above, reading about Pluto. Also my husband read it to our kids. It's good. Lots of text, but it's all interesting. There's history, from Lascaux onward, illustrated with large, clear reproductions. There's a good explanation of the hypothesis - theory - law continuum. There are personalities, there are marvelous artists' conceptions and photos from deep space.
Oddly, there is no Neil DeGrasse Tyson, but the book doesn't suffer for it.
